The address belongs to Gapyeong-gun jurisdiction, but visiting from Cheongpyeong-myeon is much closer than from downtown Gapyeong-gun.

If using public transportation, take the train to Cheongpyeong Station, then use buses or other public transportation to reach the arboretum.

However, due to the festival’s nature, buses or taxis may not run late in the evening, so using a rental car or personal vehicle might be more convenient.

There are many pensions around Morning Calm Arboretum, so planning to stay in one of these while visiting the arboretum is also a good idea.

It’s much larger than it appears in the photo. Especially during winter, when fewer people visit, parking is very easy. If you visit just before sunset during the Five-color Starlight Festival, parking is possible without much difficulty.

To fully enjoy the Five-color Starlight Garden Festival, it’s best to visit just after sunset. Visiting when the sun is still up might diminish the effect of the lights. Search for the sunset time and try to arrive just as it’s ending to witness the stunning lights gradually coming to life.

Unique Displays

Unlike similar festivals across the country, where there might not be much to see due to their smaller scale, Morning Calm Arboretum’s light festival offers captivating views at every turn.

The most popular lights are undoubtedly the beautifully crafted bear-shaped lights. Many children enjoy taking photos in front of them. Especially if you visit around the end of the year, you’ll feel the Christmas atmosphere near these bear lights.

As the sun begins to set, all the lights in Morning Calm Arboretum start to shine brighter. We were mesmerized by the gradually brightening lights that illuminated the path, losing track of time as we strolled.

For us, a couple who loves taking photos, this place was nothing short of paradise. There were so many photo opportunities!

The Morning Calm Arboretum: Artistic Displays

Each area had different themes, with lights forming various shapes and sculptures, guiding the footsteps of tourists. Some areas created giant flowers with lights, while others depicted windmills or dolphins and the sea. Isn’t it amazing at first glance?

The Morning Calm Arboretum: Perfect for Family Time

Morning Calm Arboretum is wonderful to visit in spring, summer, and autumn, but experiencing the Five-color Starlight Garden Festival in winter adds a unique charm. When traveling to Gapyeong with your family, I recommend making this your last stop and enjoying the beautiful lights glowing in the night!
